Dr. Jose Rizal's Day!

Dr. Jose Rizal

As a natural-born Filipina, I have to salute to our National Hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. In Philippines' time (which it is 15 hours ahead during Pacific Standard Time, 16 hours when it is Pacific Daylight Time), today it is December 30, is the death of Philippines' National Hero--Dr. Jose Rizal. He was only 35 years old then. He was shot dead at Bagumbayan, Luneta (now Luneta Park in Manila, Philippines) after being a martyr of being a reformist of Philippines from the Spanish Colonial hands. This man is a remarkable one. He was a multilingual person of at least ten language he knew. He cured his blind mother as a doctor. He had a lot of remarkable deeds and a great personality. Aside from linguistic, he was also a poet, essayist, novelist, correspondent, and diarist. His remarkable novel "El Filibusterismo", and "Noli Me Tangere" were widely known. So to Filipinos, Happy Rizal Day!
